I am joining Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha from A Cooking Pot and Twisted Tales for her series, “Echoes of My Neighbourhood,” where she challenges us all to share a photo of bits and pieces of wherever you are at any point in time. Today I thought I would share some of the things I see on my work commute.
I live about 10 miles/20 minutes from where I work. My travel is purely through farmland and the back roads of the country. I know I annoy a lot of drivers, but I am constantly looking around during the drive as I never know what I will see, such as…
Usually a few deer:
Lots of horses, ponies, and goats:
And cows (this particular cow was quite willing to have her picture taken):
Various farms and houses, such as this one:
And this one:
And the beautifully landscaped yards and driveways with freaky trees that have arms:
And beautiful carvings from tree stumps:
Regardless of my view during my drive, the highlight is when I finally get there and see this guy waiting for his breakfast salad:
I live in a cul-de-sac and a deer will wonder around here every now and again. We live right next to a wooded area. Being from the flatlands I envy that beautiful mountainview you’ve got there.

Awe thanks Tasha! I know I said I was going to show a bus stop this week, but the sun was actually shining, so I had to go with this! Okay, so you have a cul-de-sac and wooded area… I want to see it!!! Pleeeeeeze?!!!!

I don’t know Paula….I’ve never gone in those woods before lol….the kids have and brought back tics. But if the deer comes back I’ll definitely shoot a few pics 😄

No, no, no… don’t go IN the woods, especially with nasty tics! I don’t go in the woods either… that’s just scary!! Take a picture where they start!! How gorgeous that would be!!!

What a lovely place to live! Reminds me of when we lived in VT (but I hated living in VT).
I want all the animals! Although Gizmo would know doubt eat that rabbit (although we no longer feed it much, we raised him on raw).

I know what you mean! I think my cats would eat him too, although he actually is quite big! I’ve never been to the northeastern states, but I really want to, and hey, I guess I will one day! Vermont is supposed to be just gorgeous in the fall, am I right??

Oh yes, VT is a great place to visit! I just didn’t like living there.

Thank you! Yes, Daryl is a doll! I babysit him at work, so we entertain each other! He’s fun to feed bananas to… *smack *smack *smack… it’s hilarious!

What a neat commute! My commute to work involves freeway signs, other cars, but if I’m lucky, some pretty gorgeous sunrises and clouds. 🙂

I’ll bet you do indeed experience some gorgeous sunrises but I’m super happy I don’t have to deal with freeways!! 😀

Wow! I love your neighborhood! Everything! And how is it having a rabbit? I’ve been wanting a pet!

Thank you!!! I just babysit the bunny during the day, but they are so awesome!! So loving too! (As long you you get them fixed) But fair warning if you didn’t know… bunnies are worse than toddlers, they get into everything, chew everything, and they’re very mischievous! But they also love to be loved and are great cuddlers! If I could bunny proof my house, I would definitely have one!!

I’ve never been around a rabbit before, are they cuddly and sweet?

Yes, they really are, as long as they’re fixed. And as Daryl is neutered, he’s a big love bug! He can’t get enough hugs and kisses!!

Well, I was about to ask who and what is Daryl..but I read it in your comments. It’s a rabbit. I didn’t know you could have them around the house like that. He’s hanging out like a dog.:)

Well, he doesn’t really hang out quite that much. I work at a wildlife rescue and rehab center, and the clinic manager’s bunny (Daryl) hangs out with me all day… we call it bunny daycare. 😉 I often let him out of his protected area to run around. He’s quite a character, and he actually let’s ME know when he wants out to play! 😀
