Kindness… Pass It On

My child just came to me and asked me if he could show me a video.  I always take the time to watch the things that are important enough to him to want to show them to me.  Tonight, I’m especially glad I did.  It’s about random acts of kindness.  If you have a moment, watch this.  At the very least, it will make you smile.

Jamesy over at 50 in 50 Marathon Quest is looking for some music for his Motivational Music Monday.  Go check it out… maybe there’s a quirky little ditty you know about that you’d like to add to his list.

And if none of that made you smile, maybe this will… I made cupcakes.  That’s it.  Just cupcakes. No frosting.  Just cupcakes.  AJ ate one and said, “Mom, these are the best cupcakes ever.”

I don’t know… I think the asymmetrical thing works, don’t you?

Thank you Judy! Doing my best with the child to be a good soul, :D! And, lol, good point re: muffin vs cupcake! But I left everyone a blank slate so they can do with them what they want… a dollop of whip cream for frosting, or James likes to pour custard over his and eat it like a little piece of cake. Portion control, lol! BUT… I hadn’t thought about putting some kind of nut butter on them, I’ll have to try that! What I really want to do is melt chocolate chips and dip the tops in the chocolate… but I’ll refrain, hehe! 😀 Oh, dang… I could’ve added chocolate chips to the batter, I forgot! No, no, no… guess I’m glad I didn’t think of that… don’t need the extra sugar as that’s why they’re not frosted, 😀

Well, as I type I’m making chocolate granola. But I only use a teeny amount at a time so it goes a long way. In fact, I’ve been waiting to use the last batch up so I could finally do a chocolate one! Because you know that’s how I roll.

that video made me smile but even more, the fact that your son thought of you while watching it made my heart melt ❤ hey, a cupcake is a cupcake, icing or not…and sometimes they taste better when they don't 'look' perfect 🙂

I personally like the cupcake part of a cupcake better than the icing. So that works for me. I also think it’s awesome that your son wants to show you things in his world!

One of the things I love about your blog is hearing about your son…my son is only 5 and I’m pretty terrified of the older kid phase. 😝

Oh I am terrified too! But so far, so good!! I’ve kept him close just as you have with yours… you know what I mean, by the time I’ve spent with him and things we’ve done, just as you do now… and while he’s gradually trying to find a bit of independence, he and I still have that special bond, so he’s very respectful… so far. I’m hoping that extra time spent with him when he was little will save me from a typical rebellious teenager, :D. (I don’t know if any of that came out right, but I think you get what I mean because you I see you do it with your son) 😀

Great video! It’s so true. My sister is so great at this–she often pays for coffee for the person in line behind her. AJ is such a great kid!
Asymmetry is so much more interesting than symmetry, and I’m sure tastier, too!

Hahahaha! Thank you! I’m kind of fond of the asymmetrical approach myself, lol!! And thank you for the comment about AJ! He’s a blessing to us absolutely! (Hopefully I’ll still be saying that in 3 or 4 years, hehe… kidding, I’m kidding, :D)

Great find, AJ!! I couldn’t help but notice…did that waitress fill a glass full of water that someone else had drank out of and give it to the construction worker? lol

Thank you so very much! Just to share, the background of my cooking is that I just don’t do it… not that I don’t want to, but because I practically ruin everything I attempt, haha! I try, I even took 2 years of home economics so I could learn how to cook, but I just don’t have that cooking gene! So I get kind of excited when something comes out, even if I can’t put the finishing touches on it, and I post about it, lol! BTW, the cupcakes tasted great with just a dollop of whip cream! 😀
