Pre-Race Freak Out…Right On Schedule

‘Tis the night before the Lake Sammamish Half-Marathon and I’m doing my normal… you know, freaking out.  Actually, I’ve been doing that since I got the race instructions in my email on Wednesday.   I tend to hit panic mode when that email comes.

It’s supposed to be 50 degrees with a 50% chance of rain… neat-o. The weather is notorious for raining on the day of the Lake Sammamish race, so this is not a surprise to me.  Visors work to keep both the sun AND the rain out of the eyes.  I’ll leave off the make-up though… don’t want any Tammy Faye Bakker mishaps!

Watch is charging, race gear is ready, alarm set for 4 a.m.  Water has gone down nicely tonight, so no worries there.  Pre-race dinner was chicken and pasta with olives and artichoke hearts, a light Greek dressing, so doing well there, too.  No alcohol… I’m saving that for Saturday night celebrations with Jamesy.  Don’t need any issues on the course from alcohol!

Okay then, I think this girl is all set!  The next time I see you, I’ll be slightly hungover and one bling richer!

Oh, yeah, the Twitter thing… I get my feed on my watch while I’m running.  If you’re around tomorrow morning (7:30 a.m. Pacific), I would love to hear from you, @neveradullbling!  You know, stuff like, “Get that arse moving!”  Or “Don’t let that walker pass you!”  Or even, “Chimichanga!” (which is waiting for me at the finish line, :D)…

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

    I always love running…when it’s over. LOL.

I hope you weather cooperates. There’s rain in the forecast for mine next weekend. I am praying that it is wrong.

I have run 3 halfs in the rain. Not fun but what can you do. At least yours won’t me cold. 2 of Mine were!!!

    Looking forward to your recap.

Awe, thanks Rebecca!! It was a great race! The weather ended up to be just lovely, but I developed a bit of a knee … and I was doing so well, heading to my time goal and everything! I finished, no PR, and a big ouchie!! But it was a great race regardless!!

You are so sweet! Thank you! It was a fabulous race, it really was, loved it! I started off so good, right on target for a PR, woo hoo, BUT, I developed knee pain at mile 5 to 6. James thinks it might be my IT band, 😦 … It was a great race, but no PR for me today, but wow, what a great day!! 😀

Oh Sharon, that is so amazing!! I am so very happy for you!! Congratulations! You’re a rockstar!!! It was a great day and a great race, but sadly, no PR for me. I was on course to get one, but I developed knee pain at about mile 5 to 6. Soooo, my focus was to finish. Regardless, it was a super great day! For both you and I, I see!! 😀

Nice! Yesterday was so much fun, I really can’t believe how well it went! No injuries, no chafing! Weird! And I’m on a high so I’m looking for more more endurance runs to add to the schedule. I’ll do an update soon!
