James and I received some super fabulous support over the weekend from our blogging friends in regards to the SLC Marathon, and I’d like to say a great big thank you and let you know I really appreciate all of you!! You made me smile and encouraged me when I needed it most… you are the best support system ever!! Thank you!!
I don’t have the wherewithal to write about the race tonight (I’ll do that tomorrow). It’s been a long travel day, but as promised, I am one sparkly bling richer. And if you know me at all, you know it’s what motivates me! So yes, I finished!! State #5 done! My thighs are screaming at me and on fire, but I finished!
And now it’s time for another Motivational Music Monday song! This is open to anyone and everyone! Go add a link of a song you are enjoying this week and/or a link to your blog at 50 in 50 Marathon Quest. You might discover some new music, or maybe some old music that you forgot about. James seems to have posted a cover song. I’m a Buble fan, so I can think of a million cover songs I could contribute by my boy alone… BUT… I’m going to surprise him and come up with something totally different than my norm.
Smoking in the Boys Room by Motley Crue (originally done by Brownsville Station). It’s still fun to listen to even after 30 years (when did Motley Crue become classic rock?!).
Have a great Monday!! Best wishes for those running Boston! And kudos to all you supporters of runners! You all are amazing!!
Congrats Paula. I knew you could do it 🙂 x

Congrats (again) Paula and please say well done to James too – a top half finish is a fabulous result in any race. Call me old-fashioned but, I never listen to music while running. However I thought I might offer Don’t Stop Movin’ by Livin’ Joy as a suitable song for your ears… if you haven’t got it in your playlist already of course. (Sorry, I wasn’t sure how to submit this suggestion, but I figured you’d pass it on). 🙂

I will pass it on Mike, absolutely, and thank you! I don’t think I know that song, so I’m going to have to give it a listen!! I think that’s why I like these music themes so much… other people know songs that I don’t, and I get to expand my music library because of it!! 😀

By pure coincidence it seems that Livin Joy were (possibly still are) an Italian group. (I thought they were British).

Hahaha, possibly still are… that made me laugh! Okay then, they’re definitely one to research!! 😀

Mötley Crüe was my favorite band in high school. And now it’s classic rock.
Congrats on finishing the race!!

Thank you so much!! Funny enough, I thought Crüe was too hard core back in the day, I was more into Wham and Prince and Huey Lewis… but yes, now it’s classic! Ugh. Classic. As in Bach, or Mozart… meaning old… hehe!! 😉

Hi Paula well done. We raised a glass to you as over dinner we knew you both were getting close to finish. Are you up for the London this weekend!! Only joking. Hope the legs recover in a day or so. Oh the joy of marathon running!😂 Jx

Haha, thank you Janet!! Boston today, London this weekend!! Bring them all on, lol! Okay, not really, I’m joking. I ache terribly, and I think James is feeling it too. We just weren’t ready for those hills as we were thinking it was mostly downhill… but hey, we’ve got a great jump on Seattle now! 😀

Just rest and a few relaxing soaks in the bath. I thought of you guys as I walked to the pool to meet Alan great going but a big hill coming back. Apparently Alan says thats the running club hill training!!! No thanks😤Jx

Hahahaha! I agree!! But we’ll be ending our runs this next cycle with a couple of up and downs on that hill across the street from us. Ugh.
