Seattle’s Columbia Tower

Today was good and hot, and clear, and a great day for a trip to the Columbia Tower. On the 73rd floor, there is an observation deck where you get the best views of the city and surrounding area… you can see forever.  Well… you be the judge…

Wow! Fantastic views, I’ll add it to my ‘places to visit’. On day I’d like to do a road trip around the US. I suspect that it won’t be the same in my 60,s as my 20’s but I’m sure that I will enjoy it just as much!

warning: obscure response…lines from a folk song of many years ago (about musicians on the road)
“Out on the road, we tell all the turkeys
‘Yes it’ always raining and the sun never shines!’
But all the natives know when the mountain lifts her skirts,
The view from HOME will flat out melt your mind.”

    Brian Bowers.

    Beautiful shots of home!!

Beautiful words! And it’s so true! Of course it “always” rains here, but we have some of the most gorgeous sunny days with some out-of-this-world views, and I think all of us know that! Thank you!!

Amazing views! Reminds me of the Eureka tower in Melbourne. I think it’s the tallest building in the southern hemisphere and you have 360 views which is amazing, just like this. Can you feel it moving slightly? I’m not scared of heights but that part was a little daunting.

The Eureka Tower sounds amazing!! I couldn’t actually feel it moving, so I’m thinking that’s a good thing, lol! The elevator almost made me ill though, :D. Both AJ and I are afraid of heights, but this was so cool, neither of us freaked (James is a rock, of course). But one thing I couldn’t do was lean against the window and look down… that was a bit too much!

Ah yeah the elevator was scary how fast it went and my stomach definitely stayed at the bottom for a while! The Eureka tower has an outdoor viewing deck which was pretty cool but stupid windy. They also had a platform that you could pay a little extra to go on where once you were there the floor turned see through so you would literally be looking at the ground, 90 floors below you. I didn’t do it cos it cost extra but even then it seemed kinda scary. How many floors is Columbia Tower?

Ohmigosh, that all is super scary… the outside platform, seeing the ground from 90 stories up… ack!! I was super happy just looking through a window, lol! There’s 76 stories in the Columbia Center, but I think we were on floor 73 or 74, so not at the very very top. 🙂
