Saturday Scone

I’m carb loading for next weekend’s 6-hour (20-24 miles?) endurance run.  That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

FYI:  Next weekend for the endurance run, I will absolutely stop before and/or if I hit the marathon distance because this is not where I want to do my first full-out marathon… I would prefer that to be like… ohh, say, London maybe… or Tucson… or even Portland… but definitely not Bellingham (not that I don’t love Bellingham, I do, but that’s not my dream first marathon). Just saying.

Enjoy today!!

I must have missed it but I didn’t realise that you were doing the 6 hour race too. Technically even if you pass the marathon distance, it wouldn’t count as a ‘marathon’ race would it ? So, to my way of thinking, as long as you don’t stop exactly on 26.2 then you should still think that you’ve never run a marathon ! 🙂

Oh hey, that’s a good point and good way to look at it!! BUT, I have a feeling I won’t be getting even close to the 26.2 as I’m not trained for that distance, hehe. I guess we’re soon going to find out, :D. I’m definitely looking forward to testing it and seeing what 6 hours will do for me! 🙂

I hope your weather is glorious next week! Who knows, maybe you’ll decide you actually do want to go the marathon distance. But I hear you on making that really special — if I were ever to do one, it better be in a damn glorious place and have super support (and maybe food afterward, although I don’t know if I’d be hungry).

Thank you Judy!! The run is from 8 to 2, so I’m kind of praying for our normal rain, not downpour, just light misty rain, especially as it covers the hottest part of the day.

And yes, the first marathon needs to be super special, an event above all others, because it may very well end up being “one and done,” lol!

I hear you on that light misty rain! Sure could have used that Saturday! I might have a race Saturday, and it could rain maybe . . . so hard to tell. I haven’t actually signed up for it yet; I’m still on the fence.

It might be hot (doesn’t start til 9 am). It’s hilly. And potential for thunderstorms (although I think they’re supposed to be later in the day).

But friends. Going & running with friends . . . priceless.
