We started the day off with a Turkey Trot 5K in the pouring rain (4 days post the Route 66 Marathon)… Grandpa Rick managed 1st place in age group and a PR:
Hosted our first Boise-family Thanksgiving where almost everyone came up (thanks Gramma Sheila for all the wonderful food!):
Then had a mini-Christmas celebration as we won’t see them during the holidays:
It’s been a busy couple of weeks and I apologize for the absence, but normality is about to resume. I look forward to catching up with all of you and I hope everyone who celebrated Thanksgiving has had a beautiful and blessed day!
Thanks, and hope your Thanksgiving day was great too!

Looks like you had a fabulous time! I told Keith you did the turkey trot so close after the other race. He was impressed or dumb founded? 😉 ❤

Hahahaha, we were dumbfounded ourselves! Get up at 5, in the pouring rain, on Thanksgiving Day of all things!! Cold and wet! Silly! ;D

I spy a lot of foil roaster pans. 🙂
It’s been nice to be home for a few weeks, despite all the prep work for Thanksgiving! Thankfully the snow held off until after my turkey trot.

Glad to hear the snow held off!
Noooo, the turkey COOKS in the roaster pan… all the other stuff goes in the foil pans, lol, 😀

That’s too funny — I am exactly the opposite. The turkey cooks in foil (because I don’t want to clean up THAT mess) & everything else goes into nice pans.
I am actually surprised that we are pretty much back to normal in that department, I thought it would take longer. Paper plates help a lot! Otherwise I’d still be running the dishwasher.

I know right!! Paper plates and disposable pans… a total life saver!! 🙂

I think it’s funny that you say that normalcy will return soon, with the holidays starting, but perhaps not having to travel and race will do it. 🙂
Looks like you had a wonderful thanksgiving and I am glad.
Hope you have a good week!

Thanks Dorothea!! Did you miss the holiday? Are you going home for Christmas?
Yes, normalcy because we’re not traveling again until April, so that will be nice! 🙂
