Hiya!

Hey!  How’s that for a catchy title!  I’m brilliant that way, you know.

I got an email from my sister today saying I’d been awful quiet, so I thought I’d write a quick update to say, yes, I’m still here.

Over the weekend, we had snowmageddon.  I am not a snow person.  I do not do snow.  And yet, this winter, snow insists on showing up on my doorstep and wreaking havoc on my roads. That nonsense is about to end though as the forecast is predicting rain, rain, and more rain. Hallelujah!

Last Friday, AJ twisted his ankle at school and sprained it.  Yep… snow.  Or ice.  Same difference. But did I mention it’s going to rain?  Hallelujah!

It’s so cold in my house that the fishtank heater can’t even keep up with warming the water.  I had to get a backup because I know this current one is going to fail any day now as it’s been running 24/7 just lately.  But it’s about to be 50 deg F here in the next day or two.  That’s right… dare I say it?!  Hallelujah!

And don’t you worry about the raccoons… we’ve got them covered.  They’re getting plenty to eat, snow and all. The cats are kind of hungry, but those little raccoons are sure sitting pretty!

Because this little sweetie is probably thinking, “It’s good to be alive right about now” (hallelujah!), he deserves a little Andy Grammer!

  • Winter got you down?  Or are you used to it and loving the snowy days?
  • Who wishes they were in Hawaii right now besides me?
  • Who’s running Reno in April?  Anybody?  Anybody?

Go check out James’s most recent post at 50 in 50 Marathon Quest… he has an exciting announcement about BibRave!

Congrats to becoming a BibRave Pro James! Now you got the right colored shirt for your visit to Dublin 😃 it also doesn’t snow here …
Anyhow to answer Paula’s questions, I think I am over the winter funk. Days are getting a bit longer, that might be it. I don’t want to go to Hawaii it must be too warm there 😁 surely I am the only one though. Hope you get better weather soon! I’d send you some rain, but with my luck it will have turned to ice when it gets there.

Hahaha, no, you’re not the only one who doesn’t want to go to Hawaii. It took me a long while before I had any desire to visit… that, and a lot of cold winters. I don’t know why winter is bothering me this year when I usually love it… gotta be an age thing, lol! 😉

Yeah, our snow did linger for a few weeks but it’s all gone now (except at higher altitudes). I think I like winter less and less every year. Never been to Hawaii but it does look like paradise!

    Hiya!
Well then, this post reminded me about MMM, which I miss a bit (James!). Other than that, sorry about AJ’s ankle. Sprains are a pain.
Great song… though replace rain from the first few stanzas with snow and you’ve got it pretty accurate.
I’m a snow newbie, still, so I enjoyed it a lot! But only this past weekend where I had the right shoes on and didn’t need to worry about driving or getting places on time. When I have the wrong shoes and need to get somewhere, blegh.
Don’t want to be in Hawaii or Florida, though it could warm up a bit here (was -7 Celsius yesterday)

I was like you when I was in Arizona, I hated rain. And as you’re a Floridian (hehe, is that a word?), I can certainly relate, :D. But oh my, you’re certainly getting your share of snow now, aren’t you! And truth be told, I never cared about the beach or Hawaii in the winter either… until now. Now, when I just want to thaw out, lol! 😀

Don’t you have ANY heating in your house ? You’d definitely not like it over here (in the winter anyway) as the snow is now over a foot thick. (It snowed lightly all day yesterday but it’s sunny today – hallel…) We don’t expect it to thaw until the end of March. Hopefully today I’ll have my 2nd training run of 2017… My marathon is in 8 weeks – yikes ! (I have this feeling of déjà vu). 🙂

Hahaha, no, no heating in the house… that’s what blankies are for, lol!! I’m kidding!! And no way would I survive your winters, brrrrr! Mike, it’s time to train on the treadmill now, haha! But you’re so strong with your walking and hiking, I know you’re still going to do great!!

Sadly, I’ve already done NV. We’re getting snowmaggedon as I type. Probably our largest snowfall of the winter. It’s Feb. It’s time. Doesn’t mean I have to like it — I’m giving the side eye to everyone who whined “oh, I just want one good snow”.

I was wondering how you were doing, too. Sorry about AJ’s ankle (hopefully he’s not on crutches?).

Warm? It may be warmer than usual often this winter here, but that is in no way, shape, or form warm. 😦

I’m not so sure I could function normally in a place that got snow all the time… I guess it’s because I’m not used to it. 🙂 Besides, snow makes training difficult, although you and Darlene do really well through it! And AJ survived, no crutches, but he crawled for the first couple of days, lol! No matter as we were snowed in, lol!! 😀

I got news for you, people who are used to it don’t function so well in a place that gets snow all the time!

And yes, this week has been super challenging — and Sunday is going to cap that off with a 10 miler (really hoping it doesn’t have to be on a treadmill)

I’m definitely over winter and ready for spring. I’d be happy to be in Hawaii or anywhere with nice beaches, really. I sent you a tweet with a discount code for Nuun, if you’re interested (they told us this one was ok to share! lol).

As judy said. We got our first major snow in 2 yeas – over a foot. I am sick so it is perfect timing so I am not running this week. I don’t own a tm and even if I did, I wouldn’t use it much.

I had to feel better by the weekend – 11 is on my schedule for Sat or a 10 mil race on Sunday. I’ll have to see which is the better day.

Can’t believe that you are looking forwards to rain! I love cold but dry outdoors, but I concede that I prefer warmer temperatures (even if that is rain) for when I’m indoors.
    Enjoy the wet stuff!

Haha, thanks! Rain is by far better than the evil snow, lol! Although, definitely 3 cheers for the dry!! 😀
I know you’re cold over in the UK right now too… hang in there… this too shall pass, hopefully sooner than later!! 🙂

Apparently the Northeast is experiencing the snowapocalypse this weekend, Paula. It is cold here but Saturday will be a crazy 65 degree day. Love the extreme swings in temperature. No global warming? Excuse me while I laugh…..stay safe. I hope AJ is well. I didn’t think you guys saw too much snow in the PacNorWest.

We don’t usually see much snow, only once in awhile, but this year is one of those “once in awhiles,” lol. This weather is just crazy, I’m not too impressed, but still better than the constant 110 degrees of So. Arizona, 😀

Judging by your Instagram post today the snow is still going strong for you. We hardly ever get snow here so I’d love a day of it every now and then but I’d definitely get sick of it if it went on forever!

They say this is the coldest winter in 35 years. It’s not usually like this, usually we only get rain, but I haven’t been able to get warm in forever, it seems! I hope you get your snow day this winter! 😀
